Light & Healing Chicken Soup

If you read my last post about the liver cleanse, I gotta tell you:  I tried it last weekend and this stuff works exactly as it's described here.  It's not scary, it's not painful and it does get the gallstones out.  Even if you think you don't have any.  I was actually impressed.

Chicken soup :)
Now, to keep the body clean and happy, here is a recipe for a light and soothing chicken soup.  If you eat meat, you just got to take advantage of the healing powers of the homemade chicken soup.  And to increase the nutritional potency, it's actually made out of chicken feet.  I know, I know, quite shocking if you are an American.  But if you eat chicken muscles, why not eat other parts that are packed with nutrition and flavor? Chicken feet are a great source of collagen which is essential for good skin.

Where to buy chicken feet:  it took me a while to find them because even our local healthfood store didn't have them.  Although, they can special-order them for you.  Mexican grocery store had them.  Recipe:

Lima beans
Bring chicken feet to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for about 1.5 hours.  Add some wings or drumsticks and cook for 30 more minutes.  Discard chicken feet and take out the meat so it doesn't overcook.  Start putting the veggies in:  cubes of potatoes, yellow squash, cabbage, celery, garlic -- or whatever veggies you got in your fridge.  I had some previously cooked lima beans so I added them as well to make my soup more hearty.  Add all your favorite spices.  Add back the meat.  Turn off the flame, let it sit for about 20 mins and enjoy!

Tired of same old cold cereal in cold autumn mornings?  Why not enjoy a cup of hot chicken soup for a power start?  ;-)
