2/4/2011 – Day 31: Running before work & Whey protein smoothies!


Going strong!  New things: 

I started running in the morning on the beach BEFORE work.  The sun is out and you wanna get out of the house anyway, especially before the whole day of sitting in the office.  It’s cold at first but I get hot soon.  At first, the goal was to just walk and enjoy the sunny mornings before retrieving into the dark office cave, but I have too much energy to just walk, plus it’s much warmer to run.  J  Needles to say, I feel great afterwards and don’t even need caffeine. 

Another development:  Yesterday was a first day of my period and I had almost no pain.  Didn’t even have to take Advil which is unbelievable.  I’m not sure what is working – my healthy life style or that Maca powder that I recently got from Sunfood.com.  Maca is supposedly a superfood that is great for energy level and hormones.  Ancient Incas were taking in before going into battles.  It’s also a strong aphrodisiac.  I confirm the last statement – true!  J 

Morning smoothies with Dr. Mercola’s whey protein powder.  That’s new too, because now that I’m running in the morning, I don’t have time to cook.  And even though I learned to cook very quickly these days, a nice health-packed shake is really handy.  The idea of course came from my sacred Body Ecology Diet that blessed the morning shakes and Dr. Mercola’s whey protein powder.  What I put into my shake: 
ü      Dr. Mercola’s Miracle Whey powder (best quality organic whey from grass fed free roaming cows)
ü      Cultured raw colostrum as a base diluted with water and Cocobiotic
ü      Big scoop of Maca powder from Sunfood.com
ü      Big scoop of grounded Flaxseed
ü      Scoop of Hemp seed
ü      Half banana
ü      Half tea spoon of coconut oil
ü      Parsley or kale

Does it get any healthier than that??  J  A perfect after-workout shake.
