I hate to write about infections. But right now that't the part of my journey, and the healthy life style is not only about preventing stuff, but is also dealing with what's come along. So here is the scoop. :)
I decided to go on antibiotics to get rid of my UTI. Here are the reasons: I learned that sometimes, even though the symptoms disappear, the infection might stay and spread to kidneys. Which might not only damage kidneys, but might kill the whole you in the process. With my tricks, I was successful in getting rid of the symptoms – no burning or pain. I almost forgot I have UTI, but the urine test yesterday morning showed infection. Also, I read that if you had many UTIs before and treated them with antibiotics, alternative remedies might not help as effectively because the bacteria becomes very resistant = dangerous. And the last reason: in the past I had the infection spread to my kidneys already, so until my immune system is super strong, I don’t wanna take chances.
So, that sucks but not the end of the world. I am just beginning becoming very healthy, so surely there will be occasional set backs but that should not discourage me.
I also learned: What happens when you have to take antibiotics? You kill the bad and good bacteria. The good bacteria is being wiped out of your gut, and your inner flora gets out of balance, and therefore, cannot properly take care of you. So first, you need to eat some easy-to-digest whole food to make sure it gets digested and you stay strong. Second, because there is not enough of the good bacteria to control the yeast overgrowth, all sugar must be temporarily eliminated, because sugar is what feeds the yeast. Unless you have some really cool sugar substitutes like Lacanto or Stevia which do not feed the yeast. :) Otherwise, right after you're done with UTI, you'll have to deal with the joys of the yeast infection... :(
