Tue, 1/4/2011 – DAY 1
Funny enough my beginning falls again on my period. Women’s cycle is a great monthly detoxification device and it seems like a true cleanse just cannot start without it. I learned so much about myself in the last month. After going so successfully for 10 days on clean Body Ecology Diet and feeling great, I went to Cancun and screwed it all up badly. Blame it on a very cold weather which led to almost no swimming. L Not only I went off the diet completely, but I also got some strange side back pain that made me ill and worried for a while and prevented me from going to our office Christmas Party. I had no idea what this pain could be. But after calling the nurse, I realized that it is my poor gallbladder sending me a clear message to stop abusing it. I found a good website about gallbladder attacks (http://www.gallbladderattack.com/) and everything just became so clear to me. All my symptoms made complete sense – I have a weak liver and a weak gallbladder. This was so helpful. All that skin problem, all those tiny while balls of fat on my skin, lousy appetite, fatigue, alcohol poisoning, etc. etc. – all that completely made sense.
I did the blood test and went to Dr. Mandel but it of course showed nothing, as always. And the word “diet” made him smile skeptically. Ah, doctors…
But one positive thing happened in Cancun (besides my gallbladder discovery) – I was forced to go to the spa and I discovered a great benefit of the sauna/steam room. Upon my arrival, I did almost daily hot sea-salt baths and realized that it’s huge for detoxing and looking great. Water treatments will now be a big part of my health program.
Then I learned by blood type: O+! That was a shocker too and I again wish I knew that before. It definitely explained a lot – the need of active exercise, animal protein, fast healing. This discovery led my husband and I to commit to an exercise plan for 2011.
So 2011 is planned as a year of health recovery. Healthy diet and exercise. And it was also very, very helpful to hear my friend say: “it’s not that expensive to eat healthy.” I realized that I recently spent way too much money in my diet fever. I realized that it is not about buying some rare expensive supplements and foods, but about more simple cheap things like whole foods, and free no sugar and no overeating. I don’t have to buy 10 different veggies and try to cook them all at once trying to come up with some crazy meal. The more simple, the less ingredients – the better, that’s the key.
Last night I went to the 1st Food Group Anti-Candida Meeting with Catherine Marks and officially finished the super unhealthy recent diet. I am in withdrawal right now and feeling foggy, headachy and tired. I also got a sore throat – something I did not experience for a while. The ball is now rolling!
