Lots of people are lactose intolerant or sensitive to dairy. Many suffer from frequent colds, sinus and digestive problems and don't even know that milk is the causing it. So replacing cow's milk with nut milk can be a great idea. It looks like milk, it has the same texture and it's delicious. Especially if you make your own. Here is how to make it:
1) Soak 1 cup of raw nuts overnight or for 24 hours. Any nuts will work, so just pick your favorite ones, like almonds, cashews, hazelnuts. The water will get cloudy so rinse them several times.
2) Combine in a blender 1 cup of soaked nuts with 2 cups of clean water. Add a couple of dates (the milk will get a nice sweet flavor).
3) Blend everything well.
4) Strain the liquid nut mass through a cheese cloth.
Nut milk is ready -- enjoy! :)
